Expected in M8
The deliverable outlines the Participatory Integrated Community-Based Approach (PICBA) for lake restoration and protection, focusing on engaging local communities, stakeholders, and experts under T1.3. It includes a dissemination strategy emphasizing online platforms, detailing target audiences, messaging, channels, and timelines. The report also covers the organization of meetings and forums to involve stakeholders and the community in planning. Additionally, it discusses the preparation and execution of workshops for knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement. It addresses the establishment of a multi-stakeholder platform to foster partnerships and shared responsibility. Lastly, it outlines the development of essential documents for facilitating information transfer within the project.
Expected in M12
Report containing a concise account of the development and evaluation of alternative strategies for lake restoration and protection, in collaboration with communities engaged in Task 1.1. This report will outline the co-creation of different future scenarios, the assessment of potential impacts using the “4 Returns” framework, and the application of multicriteria decision analysis techniques to compare strategies. Additionally, it will highlight the utilization of decision-support tools, such as the mDSS software, to identify robust strategies across demonstration sites. The report will conclude with the consolidation of selected integrated strategies with involved communities and the sharing of results with the broader international community for feedback and refinement.
Expected in M18
Outlines steps for achieving lake preservation and restoration outcomes at demo sites, utilizing adaptive management. It will include an analysis of the strategies, action evaluation, milestone setting, responsibility assignment, role clarification, risk discussion, and adjustment based on feedback to ensure effective implementation.
Expected in M42
Includes the software and data of a water modelling system (WMS) developed in Task 2.1. The WMS can reproduce the water quantity and water quality related indicators for the case study lakes. The documentation contains information on the software, data, the calibration process, and a user guide to reproduce the results. The deliverable will include results of the calibrated model for water balance (e.g., discharge, water storage in soil, vegetation, lakes) and water quality (e.g. water temperature, nitrate and phosphate concentration).
Expected in M18
Deliverable D2.2. will show the results of upscaling the case study results to a European scale to identify and rank the naturalness of European lakes. This will be done by a cluster analysis in Task 2.2. The report will outline the method of clustering, the indicators of water quantity, water quality and biodiversity used and based on the indicator clustering an overview of European lakes and their ecological status will be given.
Expected in M36
Visualization tools (i.e. dashboards) to show management option for improving the water quality and ecological status of lakes to communicate results to stakeholders and public.
Expected in M42
Report containing the outcome of T3.1 activities, incl. baseline assessment, identified ecological and socio-economic indicators for each demo site, identified relevant policies and regulations, data collection protocols, defined measurable targets for each KPI and an established monitoring and reporting schedule.
Expected in M12
Report on the final examination and assessment of the conservation efforts in each of the 3 demo sites, measured against the KPIs and their targets defined in T3.1.
Expected in M46
Report on the monitoring, piloting and integration of outcomes of the NBS and management strategies implemented in case study 1 demo – Lake Vico, Italy.
Expected in M42
Monitoring report as the outcome of T 3.3 activities, including the assessment of reproduction success of Chlidonias hybrida and Sterna hirundo as a result of conservation activities implementation and including the assessment of ecological conditions of lake Bistret in terms of water quality, pressures/threats and the abundance of bird species
Expected in M40
Factsheets on implemented measures at Dummer Lake
Expected in M42
Reports on the adoption of the Data Management Plan, including results of the analyses on data sources and instructions on data management procedures according to DMP (Deliverable 8.3) ensuring the adoption of FAIR principles throughout the WP3 activities.
Expected in M36
The report will summarize economic valuations of ecosystem services provided by the demo site lakes to facilitate informed decision-making on restoration and protection efforts. It will include identified ecosystem services, and data collection on biophysical and socio-economic lake characteristics. Cost Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) can be used as an alternative to Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) when full monetization is not feasible. The report will include a sensitivity analysis to ensure result robustness.
Expected in M30
The report will identify (from T4.2) and summarize key opportunities for financing lake restoration at landscape level for each of the project’s 3 demo sites. It will look at the different financial requirements to meet restoration needs at each of the sites over the short, medium and long-term. This will include identifying opportunities to engage with the private sector, nature markets, added market value for regenerative production and other mechanisms such as nature positive water infrastructure. Financial opportunities will be assessed through market, technical and regulatory contexts and prioritized according to demo site financial need and risk
Expected in M24
Training materials will be developed to build the capacity of key landscape partners and stakeholders to support a green economic transition at landscape scale. Training will be delivered using the 5 Element process and aligned to the 4 Returns Framework in the context of lake ecosystems to reflect the different financing needs throughout these processes. It will provide training in landscape approaches, economic valuation, the role of the private sector and green finance, investment models, blended finance models, development of bankable businesses, market mechanisms and results-based payments, and the role of climate and biodiversity finance, among others.
Expected in M24
Locally specific training and knowledge sharing will be delivered to landscape partners and stakeholders across the demo sites using materials developed in T5.3, with training topic and format delivered according to needs of each demo site. Each site will be taken through an introduction to landscape finance to understand the role of finance at different stages of restoration, how landscape approaches can support investments at scale, and more in-depth topics to support the financing opportunities identified in T5.2 for each demo site.
